Steve Bruce Epropulsion British Yachting Awards

We’re delighted to announce that the ePropulsion Spirit 1.0 Evo has won the Equipment Innovation of the Year Award at the 2021 British Yachting Awards.

The British Yachting Awards are run by Sailing Today Magazine and Yachts and Yachting Magazine to recognise the best available marine equipment, boats and sailors. The award nominees are carefully short-listed by the magazine editorial teams. Then put to an online public vote which is widely promoted to their readers and beyond.

The Equipment Innovation of the Year is always the largest award category. The Spirit 1.0 Evo beat 8 other products and achieved an outstanding number of votes, putting it well ahead of a variety of prestigious hardware brands and another brand of electric outboard.

We were delighted to accept the Award on behalf of ePropulsion, in a line up of winners that included round the world sailors Pip Hare and Sir Chay Blyth!

The editors of the magazines stated, “The ePropulsion direct drive confers major advantages in terms of efficiency and the unit offers higher torque whilst using less power. Without any need for gears, cooling systems and moving parts, the motors are maintenance free and economic to run. Built in hydro-generation provides alternative recharging options whilst under sail.”
