Electric motor vs petrol engine pollution water tank test

Electric motor vs petrol engine pollution water tank test

Here’s a simple demonstration of a clean electric motor vs petrol engine pollution. The test includes an ePropulsion Spirit 1.0 Plus electric outboard motor and two petrol outboard engines – a 2 stroke and 4 stroke.

In the LinkedIn Clips below marine industry presenter Ben Taylor explains what’s happening.

electric outboard vs petrol outboard pollutionQuite simply, after 30 minutes run time, you can already see the change to the water quality with the petrol outboards. The water is dark, greasy and not something you’d want to swim in. Or expect the ocean’s marine life to have to live in! Yet the electric outboard water tank is totally clear.

It gets worse the longer these petrol engines run, whereas the electric outboard water quality doesn’t change. However, many hours you run the electric outboard, the water stays clean.

This tank test vividly demonstrates the harmful effects of petrol outboard motors, and the pollution they are emitted into our rivers, lakes and oceans.
